Description
The Formula Cura is one of our favorites when it comes to braking power and weight. The only point of criticism from our side, however, is the lever. And, as befits a decent tinkerer, we sat down and thought about what we would do differently. The result is the CURA LOVER, a CNC brake lever made in Germany, or rather in Swabia.
The following parameters have been adjusted.
- Length: The lever is slightly longer than the original Formula lever. This means that the brake can be better controlled and the bite point is more intuitive.
- Contact surface to the finger: The contact surface of the finger has been optimized for one finger. The “fin” at the end of the lever ensures that the finger remains reliably on the lever even in rough terrain or when the strength in the hand decreases.
- Distance to the handlebar: The distance to the handlebar has been slightly reduced compared to the original in order to achieve optimum ergonomics and energy-saving braking.
- Ball bearing in the pivot point: The plain bearing at the main pivot point has been replaced by two high-quality, durable and backlash-free ball bearings, thus reducing friction to a minimum.
- Brass bolt: The plain bearing bolt of the reach adjustment was subject to very high wear on the original lever, which was noticeable in the radial play of the lever. We have replaced the plain bearing bolt with a high-quality, high-precision brass bolt.
- Grip: Holes on the finger surface give the lever perfect grip even in wet or muddy conditions.
Scope of delivery: 2 levers
The lever can be fitted in a few simple steps. Be sure to follow the steps in our installation guide.
